Japanese food is really very simple and easy to prepare, as long as you get the proper ingredients and equipment. There are many easy Japanese recipes everywhere and have tried to do with more success on your own Japanese dishes at home.

For many, a Japanese sushi recipe is easy to follow. It is actually a very simple process. You must first prepare the sushi rice. You will need three cups of Japanese rice, three and one-fourth cups of water, one-third cup rice vinegar, three tablespoons of sugar, and a teaspoon of salt. Cook rice and let it steam. Combine rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar is dissolved, and wait until the mixture cools. Rice in a wooden bowl, and pour the vinegar. Use a spatula to stir the rice. What will you think of if the words “Japanese Food” are mentioned? In common, most will think of one specific dish in mind – sushi. This is the reason why sushi has become the flagship of Japanese cuisine that most welcomed food in the world.

The word “sushi” in ancient times referred to fish that are preserved in vinegar. As time goes by, sushi has become a complete meal in itself. Now, the staples of sushi would include readily available ingredients like Japanese rice (short grain rice type), dried seaweed and seafood. Because the seafood are locally procured some even enjoy consuming them in raw.

If you are among the few who are reluctant to prepare the traditional hand-rolled sushi, here is the the easiest sushi recipes for you – Scattered Sushi (散らã—寿å¸) salmon and avocado. Mixing all onto the vinegared sushi rice will do.

Japanese Candy – Design, play and eat.
If you have kid at home and likes cooking as a chef, then you can consider to get this “ãりã‚ャンランド” – an own design Japanese candy for kids. They can make their own design candy, play and have fun.

Gourmet Crab Congee
Congee or porridge is a healty food for Chinese. We like to start our day off with a hot bowl of congee for breakfast. A plain congee works well with fried dough (æ²¹æ¡ you tiao) and others Chinese pickled dish.

In this post I am going to combine Chinese porridge with a Japanese style bonito flakes broth. And we go a bit luxurious rather than having a simple plain congee, by using Crabs as main ingredients.

This is continue of the previous post. The most famous and suitable vegatable to marinade in miso paste is Japanese radish or “Daikon” (å¤§æ ¹) in Japanese.

Ingredients:
1 radish (daikon)
Miso paste seasoning:
300g miso paste
135g fine sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Japanese sake
Preparations:
Wash and rinse radish, halve and slice into 3cm thick pieces. In a medium bowl, combine the seasoning sauce and mix well until the sugar had dissolved. Place radish slices in a bowl and sprinkle with some salt. Gently toss well and press them with heavy object for 8 hours, stir often to release the excess moisture. Remove and dry with kitchen towels. Spread a layer of miso sauce in radish slices, top with another layer of miso sauce mixture. Set aside and let rest for 16 hours, mix often. Remove miso sauce from radish. Chill them in refrigerator. Rinse with some water, drain and cut into bite size then serve.
